Hi Dono That's a good point actually and the only way you can get rid of those is to get rid of them in BFD3's key map page which is very quick easy, Sonar's piano role will update to match BFD3's key mapping. I use the multi out template just in case I do want to use effects that I feel BFD3 doesn't have I will post some templates if it helps when I get some more time. So as I said at the beginning, although I start with a multi out template (as described above) the fact that I rarely (almost never) use and 3rd party effects, coupled with the BFD3 mixer being equally as good and in some ways much better than sonars, there is really no need for me to use the multi outputs and it sounds exactly the same if I just use one stereo master output and do all my mixing and processing in BFD3.

Bear in mind with the new BFD3 kits there are a lot more options with regard to ambient channels as you now have 3 mono and 2 comp channels in addition to the room, overhead and amb3/far room channels. I like to mutilate my drums sometimes So I will route my kick snare and hats to their own auxiliary channels which will then be routed to either mono or stereo outs in sonar and then I usually group the toms and cymbals to their own auxiliaries which will be routed to stereo outs and then each of the ambient channels to either stereo or mono outputs in sonar. Because I use BFD3 effects which, whilst I know there may be better effects the margins are fine and I find it much quicker and more intuitive to use the on board effects and as they are effects made for use with drums I have found it gives me more ideas creatively. Typically you would route your kick and snare to mono outs as these won't usually be panned left or right so stereo isn't needed. Having said that I have a standard template that does route kick, snare, hats, toms and cymbals to separate outputs. If like me you do most of your effects processing within BFD3 there's little need to use multi outputs.

As far as multi output templates are concerned there a so may ways of doing this depending on how you use BFD3.
